How can I convince my parents to let me have a new cell phone??

OK, heres the deal, my parents got me this really super cheap phone october 4th 2007 for safety reasons. It’s been exactly 4 months since I got it. I hate this phone so much! It looks cheap, and works cheap! I can BARELY hear the other person talking on the other line. And it heats up really easily, and burns my ear!!! I want this new phone that is $399 and I told my parents that I would EARN ALL of the money for it! And whenever I ask my mom about it, she gets mad at me and tells me to stop being obsessed. IM not obsessed! I told her that I would pay for it any way! So what is the problem here? And how can I convince them to let me pay for it myself? Because they would NEVER but me something nice like that. I’m not even earning the money from them! I’m selling jewelry that I make and selling my own stuff at our yard sale, and my birthday money. SO WHAT IS THEIR PROBLEM!?!?!?!?!?!? thankz. 10 points for best answer!!!

Alright the problem is since they got you a cheap phone it must be within a family plan or some sort of plan that gives away cheap phones aka free phones that come along with the plan.

The plan is a lot cheaper, however with you buying a new phone after only 4 months that is not possible since they have already set up a contract. (2 years probably)

I make money and I still would not purchase something that pricey. Plus if you buy that phone they will have problems with their contract. You actually have to wait until it expires.

Plus if you buy that new phone by yourself you would need to get a single plan which costs a lot more than a family plan. That is one major reasons why they will not do it. Another reason is they want to see if you can handle the RESPONSIBILITY of having your FIRST PHONE for a amount of time. After that time, if you have kept the phone in good shape, not lose it etc, then they can trust to buy you a more expensive one.

For now just stick with it. This is something you’re just going to have to overcome.
