Important Cell phone question! Quadband GSM?


I’m a t-mobile costumer and I would like to buy a new phone from ebay.
I’m not really familiar with GSM, or Quadband something i guess thats the brand i’m not sure…
Since it is not a common cell phone brand like LG, Samsung,Motorolla ect. would it be wise to order the phone? I don’t want to end up getting a cheap phone or a foreign phone that’s difficult to work. Plus, i mean it looks like a cool phone maybe my suspicion has something to do with the LOW price…?

So could you check out this link and let me know if its straight to order this or just stick to familiar brands??

There are 4 major frequencies used for GSM phones, a quad band would cover all 4 frequencies, so it would work with T-Mobile, as well as AT&T. A phone designed for AT&T’s frequencies only would not give you 3G data coverage on T-Mobile (a non-quad-band phone) A good example is the ipohone with it’s limited frequency support.

Assuming that the phone works at all, it should work fine with T-Mobile. Make sure that you have a data plan that is appropriate for the phone from T-Mobile, otherwise you could incur some huge data charges.

If you are bringing your own phone to the party, T-Mobile now has their “project dark” plans out, and you can get reduced rates by not purchasing a phone at a discount under your contract.
