Can I rent an international cell phone at an aiport?


Does anyone know if I can rent an international cell phone (for use in Europe) at either a US airport or a European airport? Which would be most economical? If you have any experience with this or an idea of the cost, it would be very much appreciated.

I believe most major airports have cell phone rentals.

What you also might want to do before you leave, however, is talk to your local cell phone company. I am with Verizon, and they rent cell phones to their customers before leaving the country. If you are going to the UK it’s a great deal–free incoming calls from anywhere! I think I paid about $75/week, though, which I was fine with just for the security and safety issue when I was traveling alone.
